The most important part of any elimination diet is, of course, the food eliminations. But if you’ve been struggling with inflammation and gut issues that led you to do an elimination in the first place, it’s likely you would benefit from some supplemental support.
I think about supplements this way: while it would be wonderful to get all of our nutrients from food, the world we live in is full of issues surrounding food. We have poor soil quality that makes foods less nutritious than they used to be and our guts are bombarded with gut-altering chemicals on a daily basis. When we are far from optimal health, we likely need support to get back to balance.
These are four of my go-to ways to initiate gut healing. Not everyone needs everything and not everyone needs them all at once.
There are 5 stages to gut healing that I’ll discuss soon but these all help the first 2 stages. For the average person reading this, beginning with a good probitoic is probably an awesome place to start.
Above I’ve linked to my supplement affiliate and some products I trust if you need a place to start. Obviously that’s not a substitute for working with someone, but hopefully it can get you on the right track.
